I take it you are trying to use STEem to run KSC, and then KSC to control 
your softsynths?

The way I do it, is to first select your MIDI input in STeem as your USB 
input.The MIDI Output from steem: select a MIDI Yoke channel. Then in your 
PC seq setup, select the same MidiYoke channel that Steem outputs from.Now 
whatever you do in KSC will control your softsynths.

There you have it.
