Hi Tim,

You can change the posting rules (in the group Management section) by
setting moderation for new members. This way the spammers can be
filtered and booted and legitimate posters can post freely after their
first post is approved.

Hi Ken

I do this for the Atari-MIDI grp..which is the main forum as this grp is 
really only for archiving purposes. Its a full time job to moderate new 
commers, so i would rather not do it here. Its not that critical for this 
list as the other list is however, as thats where the beef of the dicussions 
are. If you want to post and get in on Atari-MIDI discussions, Atari-MIDI ( 
not Atari-MIDI Archive) is the place. You only join here if you want access 
to the archives.

I hope you certainly do filter the spammers in the
main group!!!  I'm bloody sick of these bloody idiots
and their time wasters,  they're outnumberling legit
posts now.  Frankly I'm sick of the spam on yahoo
groups I'm on the verge of quitting all 4 of the yahoo
groups I subscribe to including this one because of
the idiots and their spam

yes...as soon as I start moderating membership, the spammers go away!
For this group, ( Atari-MIDI Archive) you could have the option for WEB ONLY 
so you don't get junk in your mail box. Just an idea.
