   It appears to, sometimes and sort of.  The Mega8535 seems OK but this 
90S2313 is an oddity - I'll see if there is something in avrdude that I 
can set up to add an extra erase in at the beginning.  It shouldn't be 
too hard.  It seemed OK with the device and it _did_ do it once...

   I guess that I'm just a trouble maker. ;)  I use a Mac 99% of the time.
