  Dude, you're suffering from a common ailment, the "Windows Brain Fry". 
The good doctor gives these steps for partial for full recovery:

1) Go to your local pub for a brew, or a dram if that is your liking.
2) Go to a movie
3) Go to bed

Now, go look at your computer and turn it on, if you feel your brain
starting to overheat, repeat steps 1-3 as often as necessary until your
blood pressure is back under control.  When you have reached that stage of
bliss, realizing that its only a computer, then you can re-evaluate your
options.

Never make a major decision when under the influence of "Windows Brain Fry".

Friends don't let friends use Windows, ;)
