To have a tool re-generate the assembler with your labels and comments would be much faster and more reliable. I am sure of this because I have done exactly what we are talking about here. To make sure I wasn't messing up, I would periodically re-assemble my file and make sure it produced a hex output identical to the one I originally disassembled. I would have been very interested in an "interactive disaasembler" [sic] at that time, although I don't think I would have paid a great deal of money for it. Graham.
