Tried BLIPS (download from AVRfreaks).

It uses the same chip IDs as are stored within Atmel's XML part files
that install with AVR studio. Blips searches the XML files.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
