I think it is our culture as engineers, we live on the edge of 
technology, and push ourselves hard, I know that I do not have time for 
a family and keeping up with the edge so in away the break up is good, I 
can spend more time working, and less worrying about family ;o)

Hmmm must remember to schedule in rest periods ;)
