I put the number into Digi-Key and they want $ 17.09 for the 4 meg 
card and $ 27.95 (US) for the 8 meg version.

Quite expensive as compared to an MMC or SD or even a CF card.

A question arises about ease of use, both storing the data and then 
putting that into the PC.    

One of the things Andy mentioned is use of the parallel port.  As I 
am to understand, the future of the parallel port is bleak and that 
some laptops are not supplied with them now.

That means a USB might be a better interface, but that is a road on 
the other side of the forrest.
