Maxim and TI both had data sheets recently about ADC chip and both 
offered some idea of the functions and abilities of both.

if you are doing instrument low level measuring I have an old 
book, 'Low level measurments'  free for the cost of shipping.  
Paperback, around 200 pages.  very informative information for those 
who have need of getting the signals.
