The datasheet I'm looking at for the 128 ,ATmega128 (2467M-AVR-11/04), refers to "USART" 136 times (including "Dual Programmable Serial USARTs" in the features on the first page, and "UART" 7 times, two of which are in the section "AVR USART vs. AVR UART Compatibility - The USART is fully compatible with the AVR UART regarding..."
