I am about to use some IRDA transceivers for a project but I don’t exactly know how it works.
What I would like to do is connect the IRDA transceiver directly to the UART of my AVR.
I want to transfer some bytes with approx 1200 baud 8 bit data 1 bit stop from one AVR to another so no PC, mobile phone etc. is involved.
But in some of the schematics I’ve found here and there I see that a lot of people use some “interface” chips between the processors UART and the actual “IR Transceiver”
Can anyone point me in some directions?
