Re: [AVR-Chat] can't ride the pony(prog)

2005-01-08 by ethan@bufbotics.org

Ok, following Dingo's advice, I'm trying to use AVR-dude to program an
ATmega16 using an Olimex AVR-PG1B programmer. NOTE: this programmer plugs
into my serial port.

I just downloaded avrdude 4.3 (I couldn't find a winXP copy of 4.4) and
don't know which programmer hardware to use. The AVR-PG1B is supposed to
be ponyprog compatible, so I tried "pony-stk200" but that aparently uses
the parallel port, not the serial port.

Has anybody used avr-dude software with olimex AVR-PG1B serial-port hardware?

Also note that I can use AVR-dude to program a chip using my STK500
hardware, so I know that at least my mega16 chip is good and that Avr-dude
works (just not sure with my AVR-PG1B).
