AVR-Chat

Hi all ,
        I found a circuit which may help me in the project but there
was a problem that the connections aren't clear on the schematic ...
like the pins CTS, Rx, Tx & RTS/DTR ... genrally i mean the
connections between the Level Shifter & the Programmer itself .. i
read the ATmega 8535 data sheet .. but i couldn't deduce anything ...
can any one help me ??
