...and, if you need a "crutch" (as I do ;)
for the initial programming, try Bascom AVR
demo (a BASIC compiler with a very liberal
2k code restriction)

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
