hi everybody, is there any community effort into reverse engineering the debugWire protocol already started ? as atmel is not releasing this protocol, i guess this is the only way one could implement tools for debugging AVR targets under diffrent platforms (linux for example) I was looking into it as a possible future module for the monitor software which allow ddd/gdb interraction with an AVR micro. The project i'm working on in my spare time is at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/avrhmon ..still in infant stage but functional... unfortunately it takes 3 pins away from the application while debugging (mosi/miso/sck), also timer0 is used for the "stepping" trick. I plan implementing a 1-pin version.. preferably with debugWire, but, if not possible, an asynchronous bidirectional link would do.. but i'd sill prefer debugWire (or both) thanx in advance for any info. mihai
