Thanks!  That was just odd enough that I needed confirmation before 
risking a flame-out.  FWIW, I popped the top on the ice, and I don't 
see any components to protect against reverse polarity.  There is one 
device that might be a protection device, but I didn't want to risk it.

Supply and ICE now labeled to prevent repeat. :)
