No need to try and convince me that C or Assembler is better, I 
already know that.  

However, given that I understand Basic, can use Basic to do the job at 
hand, and don't have the time to devote to learning either C or 
Assembler, Basic is my choice. 

If on the other hand, Basic couldn't do what I needed it to, I 
probably wouldn't do the projects I want to, or, I would be forced 
into learning the other languages, thus taking a lot longer for me to 
get from A to B.

So, spare me the lectures about C or Assembler, I would if I could.
