Pascal was my 3rd language (asm for DG Nova, then Fortran II/IV, then 
Pascal. It tought me a *lot* of good habits. Then I went to C and fought 
it for a long time until I realized C is a portable assembler, not a 
high level language.

Alas, the referenced Pascal, above, is priced above  what the casual 
user can accomodate (at least, me!).
