Dah, my bad, I had some of my settings wrong in Beyond Compare so I wasn't
seeing what I wanted to see.  All is good now, thanks Gary ...

Thanks also for the suggestions from others about other tools.  I'll check them
out.  It's always good to check out other tools for a potential "better
mousetrap".
