Because one usually has to try and understand all about SUT and other cryptic bits and the fact that a 0 means programmed etc. In Studio you will simply pick a proper oscillator type which is clearly spelled out such as EXTERNAL oscillator or EXTERNAL CRYSTAL oscillator , the frequency range, start up time etc in a drop down list. You will still need to understand the difference between the 2 but it is less likely to confuse one. At least I have NEVER messed up the fuses in any chip un the past 7 years or so...perhaps I'm SOOOO GOOOD :-D :-D Parallel port programmer have not been supported by Studio for a long time, so one has to get something else as a programmer interface. There seem to be some good GUIs for parallel port programmers too but still seem to talk about SUT bits etc. Regards John Samperi ******************************************************** Ampertronics Pty.
