Is this version version 1.3 (a changelog file is included in the zip
of later versions)? What version of Windows? Is this before the application
displays an initial dialog box?

Thanks for the report, Bob.

Thanks for the info, Bob. That suggests a missing DLL that I should
bundle with the application. That a good step for further
investigation.

Hi Bob, since you have a system where it runs and another where it
doesn't, you could be of great help if your have the time and
inclination. I uploaded version 1.4 today that should fix a number of
issues as well as add a number of features. The new web address is
http://b9.com/elect/avr/kavrcalc/

However, I suspect the startup issues will be the same with the new
version. Do you mind checking if version 1.4 still fails on your dell
laptop?

Assuming that it does, it'd be great if you would download and install
Microsoft's DLL dependency walker named "depends". A web site
http://www.dependencywalker.com/ has the problem available for
download. That program will tell you what .dll files the .exe file
needs. I don't know if the progrem will tell you if a needed DLL is
not present on your system, but it might. Otherwise, it would be a bit
of a task to match each DLL required by KAVRCalc.exe against the DLL
available on your system.

In any case, though, my hope is that you will find the .exe requires a
DLL that is not present on your system. Then, I could bundle the .exe
in an installer package that will install the DLL on computers that
lack the DLL.

Thanks for considering my request for help,

Kevin
