avrdude hangs on Mac OSX 10.4.11?

Folks, I have a Pololu AVRISP2 board (Pololu programmer using the Atmel AVRISP2 code) that works fine on my 10.5 Leopard system using avrdude, but on my 10.4 Tiger systems avrdude 5.5 will program my M168 a dozen times or so, and then start getting timeouts. Avrdude will then hang until I unplug the Pololu AVRISP 2. Is this a version 5.5 problem, OS X 10.4 problem, Pololu problem (kind of doubt that one) or an AVRISP 2 problem, ... or some other problem? Has anyone seen this happen with them? I don't know the version of avrdude that I'm running on my Leopard system, it might be newer; in which case this is an old topic that I've just not heard of before, or ??? If anyone has seen this before on their systems and has a root cause that they'd like to share I'm all ears! thanks, DLC -- Dennis Clark TTT Enterprises
