AVR-GCC on Ubuntu

Is anyone using AVR-GCC on a Linux computer. Better yet on a Ubuntu v.
8.04 operating system?

If so how did you get it setup to work.

I do have GCC C working. I would like to start using GCC on Ubuntu and
break my chains to Windows more.

I'm using Gutsy Gibbon (7.04) and I did:

sudo apt-get install gcc-avr

You can find other avr related packages by doing

apt-cache search avr
