i wanna use a lcd 4*20. is it possible??
if yes, i shoule select 20 or 4*40 in Chars./Line section??
or how should i connect the lcd pins to selected port??

Yes.

You can connect it either 4 bits wide or 8 bits wide. Its up to you.

Read the LCD's data sheet. Most all text LCDs interface exactly the same
way with small variations in commands. The Hitachi controller doesn't
natively know a 4 line display so those are usually treated as 2 line
displays. First line may wrap to the 2nd line, or it may skip the 2nd
and go to the 3rd, I forgot. Try it, thats the only way you will learn.
