Problems with AVRStudio 4.09

Problems with AVRStudio 4.09

2004-08-22 by Lee

I've just installed AVRStudio (4.09) under Windows 98. I created a
project, and imported some code. After I created the project I got
the following messages:

Error seelcting xml-node 02
Error seelcting xml-node 02

StudioApp AddInitialView Can not find any file types, check
definitionfile for assembler/compiler

When I restarted AVRStudio I got the message:

D:\embedsys\AVR class\blink\blink.aps is not a AvrStudio4-savefile

I'm assuming I missed something in my installation or setup for AVR
Studio. Can anyone give me any ideas? Thanks.

John,

Thanks for the suggestion. I just removed 4.09 and installed 4.10, as
well as downloading and installing the new XML parser from Microsoft.
I got the exact same messages when I ran AVRStudio. Any other help
from anyone would be appreciated.

There may be a problem with the XML parser under Win98. If you
go to the avrfeaks.com site and search for it you will find some info.
Also if you had an older version of Studio you should completely
unistall it and the reinstall the newer version. There is also version 4.10
just released at the above site and may want to consider installing it.
The newer version of Studio should install the new XML parser
automatically I believe. Hope this helps.

No further words of wisdom from me :-(

May want to go to the avrfreaks.com site (Atmel's semi official avr site),
go to forums , then to the Studio 4 forum and post the question there as
Atmel's engineers monitor the site and can probably help you. I just
posted a question myself and got an answer. By the way I run
Studio 4.9 with win98SE without major problems, except that Studio 4.xx
has a bug with the ICE200 and Atmel cannot replicate it on their systems
so it doesn't get fixed :-((
