I2S (Inter-IC Sound) is a serial bus (path) design for digital audio devices and technologies such as compact disc (CD) players, digital sound processors, and digital TV (DTV) sound. An I2S bus design consists of three serial bus lines: a line with two time-division multiplexing (TDM) data channels, a word select line, and a clock line. You can see the specification here: http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/various/I2SBUS.pdf Regards Jose --- Dave Hylands <dhylands@broadcom.com> wrote: > > Yeah - but i2s is a different protocol from i2c. > > http://users.telenet.be/educypedia/electronics/I2C.htm > (2nd hit from typing > i2s in google) Scroll down the page to see the i2s > stuff. > > That page has a link to a app note on i2s, but it's > using an ARM processor. > Seems like you need some type of DAC support. > > -- > Dave Hylands > Vancouver, BC, Canada > http://www.DaveHylands.com/ > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Jim Wagner > [mailto:jim_d_wagner@applelinks.net] > > Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2005 2:27 PM > > To: AVR-Chat@yahoogroups.com > > Subject: Re: [AVR-Chat] INTERFACING I2S > > > > > > > > I2C is the same as "TWI" in Atmel products. > > > > Jim > > > > On Wed, 2 Mar 2005 19:52:52 -0300 (ART) > > Jose Fuentes <josecarlosfuentes@yahoo.com.ar> > wrote: > > > > > > Have any of you interfaced atmega to codecs > using i2s > > > protocol? > > > Regards > > > > > > Jose > > > > > Yahoo!
