External clock with ATmega16

External clock with ATmega16

2005-08-18 by klassasin

For all the tinkering I've done with AVRs, I've yet to use an external
clock. Right now, I have only 8.0 MHz and 10.0 MHz ceramic
resonators. I'm using AVR Studio to program my AVRs with my STK500.
What fuses do I need to set to enable the external clock (aka my
ceramic resonator)?

For 8MHz resonator: CKSEL3..0 = 1111
For 16MHz resonator: CKSEL3..0 = 1110
