ATTINY13 programing(newbie)?

ATTINY13 programing(newbie)?

2006-01-28 by sogilo

Dear all,

I am trying to program ATtiny13 with codevision 1.24.3b, and have some
difficulty; first I set Clock frequency 9.600000 MHz(no external clock
source is connected), and simply hit the "make the project" button. it
seems that at first programing works, and then I retry to program it,
it returns an error message such as "AVRisp error entering programing
mode". Is anybody can share some infomation to solve this?

Unless I am seriously mistaken, the maximum frequency for the internal
clock on AVR devices is 8 mhz. 9.6 Mhz will not work, and probably is
the source of your error.

hello,

I just got my first batch of 25 Tiny13s from DigiKey yesterday. I
test programmed one with the SP12 programmer. The device was stock
which means that it was running 9.6MHz internal clock with the divide-
by-8 fuse set for a system clock of 1.2MHz. The programming went OK
once the connections were correct.
I then switched to 4.8MHz system clock (reset the DIV8 fuse and
selected the 4.8MHz CKSEL fuse setting). Still no problem with
programming. The application doesn't work even though it did on a
Tiny11 and Tiny26.
I didn't see any reference to a crystal clock on the Tiny13. Should
I assume that a crystal between pins 2 and 3 will not work to provide a
system clock for the Tiny13?

Hello,

I don't know the answer but I would suggest that you download the Atmel
Tiny13 complete specification from www.atmel.com or www.avrfreaks.com and
study it. I'm sure you will find many answers to your questions about clock
options there.

Good Luck,

Jim

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
