usart confuse-help me....

2006-02-04 by pinky elodia

hi....
i got confuse with usart...
i'm using atmega128, i hve use pin2&pin3(mosi&miso) for download program...i believe in atmega128 its call usart0.
in datasheet said that
"in atmega103 compatibility mode, usart1 is not available, neither is the UBRR0H or UCRS0C registers. this means that in atmega103 compatibility mode,atmega128 supports asynchronous operation of USART0 only".
quite confuse with his statement, how i can know which mode i'm using, atmeg128 or atmega103? i'm using ponyprog for load the program.
for register, they are 0 and 1 like(UBRR1H,UBRR0H,UCSR0B,UCSR1B) say that if i use usart1, for UCSRA....which i should use, UCSR1A or UCSR0A? UCSR1A, am i right?
thanks for ur concern..............

The compatibility mode is set with one of the fuse bits.
