Reset Chips

Reset Chips

2006-06-19 by Kathy Quinlan

Hi all,

I am looking for a reset chip with Pos and Neg Reset outputs. BOD would
be nice.

I have designed with the MIC2775, but due to the suppliers not giving a
stuff about my requests for a sample, I am looking for a new one, a drop
in replacement would be great, but I will take what I can get.

Hello Kat :)

I'm not sure if you know, but my research shows that the MAX825 and
the ADM6825 are pin compatible devices with the MIC2775. I never had
any trouble getting samples from Maxim - never tried with ADM, though.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Frank

I don't know the specs of the MIC2775 but you can try something like ADM708
from Analog Device, they are usually happy to send samples.

Shoaib

Maxim has some with complementary outputs. Don't remember
the numbers.

"DS1232" sticks in my mind has having complementary reset
outputs. Dallas is now owned by Maxim. This device also has
three delay intervals, depending on whether a pin is high,
low, or floating. It is probably 5V-only.

Thanks Jim and Frank.

When I first looked at Maxim I could not find any, as for some reason
the table was only showing the Active low reset chips, not dual so I (I
know I made and ASS out of me) ASSUMED that they did not do DUAL ones. I
have since found a DS1814C which is A pin compatible, B 5V and C does
not contain a watch dog (my circuit had no option to pat it :( )

Thanks all,

Don't shoot...don't shoot!

Microchip has some reset chips that are also pin compatible. Take a
look at the MCP3819 series...about half a buck.

They make interesting interface chips that are also very inexpensive,
even in onesies and twosies. We use their D/As in several products. We
still keep the lye soap and clorox around, though.
