For any interested parties, I've uploaded some (large) live MP3's from my ensemble's recent Euro-tour to the directory at www.joshroseman.com/tunes/poznan These are are unexpurgated files from a fun gig in Poland, recorded straight to a laptop, nice and sloppy. I will upload more later in the week, should have some that feature bass sounds a bit clearer. The music is hard to classify- hopefully it's kind of a thoughtful fusion between jazz and trip-hop. The lineup features keyboardists Barney McAll and Peter Apfelbaum- Peter is playing virtuosic dubby bass lines on the Andromeda in lieu of bass guitar- I programmed some nice splits for him that sound like Sun Ra playing a dancehall party in Kingston. Barney uses a Fantom, Rhodes, Nord and a lot of tiny sound effect devices- he often brings his answering machine to gigs- he can also be heard playing keyboards with Kurt Rosenwinkel or the Groove Collective. Anyhow, two very interesting players- there's also drums, guitar and I play trombone. I've had a very interesting time working on bass patches and playable, bread-and-butter vintage-sounding splits for the A6- would be very interested in sharing if anyone else has been working on similar lines. - have been working on reverse-engineering bass sounds from my Studio Electronics ATC-1, it's been an education. In general, the A6 has been very satisfying to use as a monster bass machine; really have been getting tons of bass and the envelope generator is amazing for bass programming. I'm trying to generate patches that have a bit more midrange contour to them at this point. all best Josh www.joshroseman.com
