Ion Info

Ion Info

2003-01-30 by Colin Chung

8 voice polyphonic, 4 part multitimbral. The voice path is made up of 3 oscillators with shape modulation, sync and FM, and 2 filters which can be run in series or parallel. There are currently 8 different filters to choose from and more will be implemented before we begin voicing. Noise, ring mod and external inputs are available in the pre-filter mix section.

Regarding modulation, the Ion has 2 LFOs which can oscillate up to 1.25KHz, a sample and hold, and 3 A/D/S/SD/R envelopes which are loopable. There is also a tracking generator available. The Ion has 1 pitch wheel and 2 mod wheels, but no aftertouch. There is an expression pedal jack and a sustain pedal jack on the rear panel. Up to ten mod routes can be active at once in the modulation matrix, in addition to several hard-wired routes.

The effects section offers no reverb, but includes distortion with a dedicated drive knob. There will also be chorus, flange, phase, compression, decimation, and delay available here among several other useful effects. This is also where you will be able to access the Ion vocoder, which will have over 40 bands.

Other features include Mono and Poly voice modes, Unison with Detune, portamento, glissando, an arpeggiator, and an easy to navigate user interface with a large LCD display.

Her is some more I got from Ben Ling
Filtertypes most of them is modeled after classic analog synths like
ARP,MOOG,ROLAND and OBERHEIM the also be other type of filters also.
+ in Effects will also be a Resonator and som delays not "no long
ones" short and medium.
