Getting acid sounds from the A6

Getting acid sounds from the A6

2003-07-07 by Ra

Just wondering if you have any patches or tips for getting acid sounds out
of the A6.
I am looking for 303/777/growling screaming kind of sounds that can be
modulated by *manually* tweaking the filters or the ribbon.

There are a few presets that are pretty good (Silver Box or something), but
I'm looking for how to go about it from scratch.

Thanks in advance,
RA

I've done a few 303'ish patches in my time, pity I lost them all.
The 12db filter will get you there quicker.
Or you could try mixing both filter together to get a
pusedo 18db responce ;)

The Acid and Qsaw sound demos here will give you a taste :)

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your response.

I checked out your demos and they're pretty good.
I am looking to produce stuff like the Acid and QSaw demos.

Do you have any tips on how to get started, etc.?
Could you provide a quick signal flow explanation with basic Osc., filter,
etc. settings? That would really help me understand better how to start from
scratch.

Thanks in advance,
Ra

Well the most important thing is that you play it
like the way a 303 would operate.
With accents and slides. I own a 303
but I read up on how a 303 operates, and how the sequencer
changes the sound with accents, the decay length and so on.
And then I used velocity to trigger the acent set the right decay lengths
etc. The AcidSEM stylee demo was done on the A6's
onboard step sequencer. Velocity triggering the accents
which spike the volume up, the resonance, slurs the attack and shortens the
decay
That one used the 12db filter by itself.
The glide shape is important to.

The Q bass I used both the 24db and 12db filters mxied togetehr to give a
sorta 18db filter
responce :)

My memory is a bit hazy on the details though, I'll see if I can find the
basic patch
I did back then, I lost a whole of patches not so long ago though.
