I know that a couple of folks are really miffed right now 'cause right
after the subscription invite went out there were 3 spam messages with
Yahoo tags on them in our mailboxes. If more spam shows up, then it's
obvious that it came from Yahoo dredging the invite lists for this list. I
know that I was spam-free enough that it was obvious to me what happened.

I'm not saying that MikeP or MikeC won't be here, but... It doesn't say a
lot for Yahoo.

There's also a "cleaner" A6 list starting up which is based on the more
traditional Majordomo mail server software. No ties to Yahoo or any one
else outside of the list owner. And no commercials at the bottom of the
emails either.

I'm here and I'll probably stay, but I can't say that I'm a big fan of
Yahoo groups.

You can configure Yahoo groups to send no email, and you read the discussion threads using the web interface, at:

No spam. No mailbox clutter. Archived. And my web browser will even filter out the banner advertisements.

Majordomo cleaner? Not in my opinion. I find mailing lists which deposit all discussions into my email client, much less clean than web based forums. Especially when discussions drift off topic, and I have to routinely purge my inbox of 50+ messages discussing Cubase.
