MIDI Dump with Cubase doesn't work

MIDI Dump with Cubase doesn't work

2006-02-23 by steffengrondahl

I'm trying to dump user programs (both single program and whole bank).
Simply doesn't work ! Please Help !

Some details:
Setup: Andy + Midibox (M-Audio MIDI-sport 2x4) + Cubase SE.
Andy version: 1.40.12
It seems like I don't receive any data in cubase. When I press stop in
cubase midi-recorder there is no track (and from the potmeter in
cubase its obvious that nothing is detected, but the MIDI-box is quite
active, ie its receiving data and communicating via USB) !
I'm using the procedure given in the manual p. 253-254 ("To send an
individual program or mix out as a MIDI system Exclusive dump")
I've tried to record simple MIDI from the Andy keyboard (setting local
off and using channel 1) - no problem !
I've tried to make a dump from my Indigo-2 - no problem !
I've changed the SysEx transmission rate - SysEx delay is 30000 !

Oh I just read in the Andromeda FAQ paper that Cubase doesn't seems to
work getting SysEx dump from Andromeda. So now I'll try MIDI-OX.

FYI: Yes MIDI-OX is working ! Cubase is not.

it does work,
have you set off the midifilter for transmitting and receiving system
exlusive data ?
find it somewhere under fifth colum /system/midi or so. be sure to
put off the labels before system exlusive through when playing it back
to the a6 and , for the system exclusive record when sending it to the
computer. when both are set to off ( = no label before it ) you might
get a midi loop problem. hope it's clear this way and didn't mess it
all the other way around, you see i'm doing it out of the head right
now, so good luck it should work.
