A6 & Ion PSUs are noisy!

A6 & Ion PSUs are noisy!

2006-06-23 by Moreno

Hello guys,

I have an A6 and an Ion... and i was wondering if any of you found a
solution to remove that eletricty noise! I already bought a Power
Bright Distribution (PB11 from Samson) and it helped but it didn't
remove all the ground noise.

These 2 machines are really the only ones that make this. All the other
machines in my set are clean.

I hope there is a clean free solution. =:)
Thanks.

It's ok! Sorry, I should have googled before posting.
It's not really A6's or Ion's fault (and my Yamaha FS1R also)....
seems anyway that they are more sensitive than my other machines.

I just plugged them in another electric outlet along with other
electric devices and it did the job!
NO MORE NOISE GATEs!!!!!!!!!! HAHA!!!

How do you know that it is the power supply? Are you sure that you are not getting RF? I recently experienced this with my elektron Machinedrum. I found out that the midi cable going into the machinedrum was not well sheilded and acted as an antenna for RF. Make sure that when you assess the problem that you disconnect the midi cables to see if the problem is then aleveated. Let me know how it works out for you.
Peace,
Lucin

Hi Lucin, I could guess it's a problem with the electricity because
when the Ion and the A6 were switched off it was making anyway ground
noise. And when i unplugged the electric cables, there were no more
bad unwanted sound artefacts but just plain silence. It was such a
pleasure. My other synths (that are connected in multi-outlets) don't
make any ground noise. I guess their manufacturers had done a better
job in their PSU. Anyway, i solved the problem.

I have also a MD and i did experience momentarily the same problem.
But now it's ok.
