Re: Effectively controlling two BOSS VF-1 with FCB1010 UNO

I can't share the file right now due to travel.

The trick with the VF-1 is the assigns within each VF-1 patch. By default they're set to the 1/4" controller pedal jack or disabled entirely. So with each patch on the VF-1 you need to:

1. Enable all 4 assigns within the VF-1 patch
2. Set each assign to MIDI-[whatever CC# you setup stomps/expression for in the FCB1010]
3. If using stomp box mode turn each stomp OFF in the VF-1 patch that you want to control via stomp box pedals on the FCB1010. For anything in the VF-1 you are NOT controlling via stomp box mode you need to make sure the VF-1 patch has those features enabled otherwise they'll be permanently stuck off in the patch. Step 2 & 3 are the key to everything, and it's all done in the VF-1, not the FCB1010.
4. Save the VF-1 patch
5. On the FCB for each patch (when using stomp box mode) configure the PC# for the VF-1 (calls up the VF-1 patch), then enable each stomp box you want turned ON by default within the VF-1 patch, and disable each stomp you do not want on by default.

At that point when selecting a patch on the FCB1010 it should send the PC# to the VF-1, then send each CC# for each stomp you enabled. The VF-1 should change to the correct patch, and each stomp should enable in the VF-1, and each corresponding stomp pedal on the FCB1010 should have a red light on indicating it's on/enabled.

If you're not using stomp box mode then it's really even more simple. You just send a PC to change the patch on the VF-1, and create patches for each "scene" or effects setup and just blast away with program changes and no stomps at all.

Note that VF-1 firmware 1.12 supports tap tempo, though I only tested it via the 1/4" pedal controller not MIDI. Check the VF-1 group for my instructions on that.
