Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

I'm considering updating my old Boss se-50, and the VF-1 seems to be a
good choice.
I will not use it as a pre-amp, I will use it between my ADA-MP1 and
marshall 8008.

So my questions:
Is there a global noise gate/supressor?

One thing I don't like about the SE-50 is that there are many single
effect algorithms, like the pitch shifter.
Are many of the algorithms on the VF-1 just one effect, or are there
usually some typical effects like delay, eq, reverb on each algorithm?
