From: "stratoskier" <stratoskier@...> Subject: Why does my VF-1 sound harsh and unnatural? ... I'm disappointed in the tones I'm getting out of it. I'm almost wondering if something is wrong with it. An impedance mismatch (guitar>01V, or 01V>amp) can contribute to an "unnatural" sounding effects rig. Also, amp and speaker quality will effect results. Best evaluation of the VF-1 would be to hook up to a good quality (HiFi or PA) amp (Crown, Crest, BGW, etc), connected to a good, rugged studio monitor type speaker (or rugged home HiFi speaker). You can't evaluate the VF-1 by connecting it into a guitar amp. Guitar amps are designed for coloration, not HiFi. BTW, I found the many of the VF-1's patches to be very noisy, and I don't care for most of the distortions, but tweaking has gotten around most objections. I don't have room for more than 1/2 rack space, so size wins! Cheers, Rick
