RE: [BossVF1] Digest Number 242

2004-03-10 by zN|nJa

I often thought of creating a website dedicated to the VF-1, but always end
up making 1/2 a page and jamming instead. It would be a lot of hard work,
and not free either. Between my new family, my job, my writing, and sleep
there's about 12hrs too little in a day. ;)

There do seem to be some really knowledgeable people in this group though.
The archives are still alive, and there is some great info to be found
within.

Forget Roland support though, if you had even considered that route. What a
joke. They're worst then Steinberg support-wise...and that's bad.

If you do either find something, or create something decent, please share
it. You're not alone in wanting what you asked about.

Cheers!
~zN

p.s.: Roland, if you're listening....we spend a lot of ca$h on your
products, so don't forget about us....and especially don't forget about the
VF-1. It's a great machine.

I think that it is one of the better-kept secrets. Most guys I know have not
heard of it and have never considered it along with all the other brands out
there.

I wasn't suggesting that I personally think the VF-1 is a piece of
s#it as I like it very much.

I was only wondering if the perception was that it is a POS due to
the complete lack of support in terms of editing, patches and
information available on the net... even this group, dedicated to
the VF-1, suffers from a lack of support files....

  Am I missing something?

not what I experienced.. a lot of excellent guitarists I know own one or at
least have heard of it.. my former guitar teacher (who ended up becoming a
session guitarist for some high profile band) owned 2 VF1s, and even asked
me if i was willing to sell him mine at some point.

This guy was unbelievable by the way.. he mastered Satriani (as much as this
is possible) when he was 16, just to give you an idea of his skills.. I wish
I was still getting lessons from him :)

I'm very happy with mine and will definately be buying another one
so that I have one for each side of my Stick.

I'm just dissapointed that there isn't much in the way of editors or
librarians dedicated to it.
