Ah, OK -- sounds like you're almost there.

One thing you might want to try (if you haven't already) is sending 
some midi messages from the MFC to MidiOx on your computer. It's 
freeware and very handy. Incoming messages appear in a screeen 
allowing you to inspect exactly what was sent. It will tell you 
what CC or PC messages were sent so you'll know what CC it's 
operating on. That's what I did with another midi pedal (Midi 
Mitigator RFC-1) to quickly figure out what the continuous 
controller was sending.
