Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Rocktron makes a 7 to 5 pin converter, but the 5 pin side has a split line for a power adaptor--am I to assume the power adaptor is for the midiXchange?(It does require a power supply.) Here's a picture/link to the rocktron cable: http://www.rocktron.com/products/accessories/midicable5to7pin/

Hi Garry - I've used the Rocktron Midi Mate for years, and it worked perfectly with the 5 to 7 pin converter...  If the MidiXchange has a 7 pin plug, then you can power it remotely with the cable you mention. 

Another option is the tech 21 midi mouse - that's the main footswitch I've used forever when I want a small footprint/easy to use unit.
