Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Hi,
Could someone tell me how the distortion effects of the VF-1 are ?
Do they have a nice musical quality ?
Are there any audio demos of it ? (i couldn't find any anywhere)

In my short experience with the VF1 I don't think distortions are the 
strong point of this unit. I find it difficult to get a "modern 
distortion indie-rock" sound or a nice valve emulation or a warm fuzz 
tone. I'm working currently with a borrowed Big Muff which is fine 
and I'm going through a Crate Vintage50 valve amp.
But then again I'd love to know the opinions of more experienced 
users.

Thanx Tharbin for your previous answer. It helped my sound a little. 
I'll investigate more the patch issue thing.

no no mister !i think that the unit is not the problem really in search for 
real nice nice distortion sound,it's a ear and time problem,well i think that 
to get a distortion sound that is nice in your ear it's long  because you got 
to search the parameter that work with your gear ,yes it's easier to get the 
sound with a vodoo,or digitech 2120 or direct in an engl amp but with a 
little patience you can get it with the vf-1 ....well if you are "perplexe",i 
gonna put my new patches online soon and maybe mp3 with example if i can..i 
really think is quiet an 'arme absolue' ....
