Sending .syx files to VF-1.

Sending .syx files to VF-1.

2002-12-04 by theo9799

I have the same trouble as jp2396 does.

How do we upload a .syx patch file to VF-1? How do we make it receive
the patch? (Using MidiOX or any other appropriate application).

Thanks in advance for any answers,

Theo9799

I figured it out by selecting a patch in the user bank that I didn't
care about, then sent it using midi ox. After it completed the send,
I went into the editing mode and pushed write. This seems to be the
easiest way.

Thanks jp2396!

I'll try it out soon!

I'd like everybody in the group to know that i have contacted
SoundQuest, makers of the MidiQuest editor-librarian about making an
MidiQuest editor for VF-1 and the Roland FC-200 footcontroller used
to control the VF-1. They responded positively asking to send them
the SoundDiver adaptations for the VF-1 and the FC-200, which I did
sending them the latest ones. Mind the new version of MidiQuest
(version 9) will be out in about a month's time and as always it will
support Windows... There is also a user group for SoundQuest and of
course MidiQuest in Yahoo, the address being
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/soundquest-users/ for everybody wishing
to join it.

Cheers,

Man this is an old message. But there was never a follow up and I'm looking through my MQ9 & 10 files and yes there is a FC-200 but not a VF-1 instrument file.

If anyone has one sure would be nice to see it in the library. I've got 2 VF-1s and still use them.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
