I use the VF-1 as an effects unit most of the time hooked up in the
send/returns of my mixer.
The reverbs are not ther best around but very usuable, I quite like the vf
for its versatility, I use all the algorythms for my synths, even the guitar
ones.
I first bought the vf also for guitar but that is not the way I use it
anymore (I have a roland gp-100 and a Behringer V-amp pro for that, much
better.
I remember I only had a roland jv - 880 synth and connected the VF-1
directly to it, very very big improvement on that old Roland.
Now I also use it for a Korg ms 2000, a Virus A, a Waldorf Microwave I and
my Roland s750 sampler, for almost everything also.
I used a very heavy distortion from a tweaked guitar algo on the first part
of "Stupid" downloadable on http://ppi.iuma.com, the drums in the clean part
of that "music" are the same but no distortion applied (hahaha).
Thats the most audible vf-1 effect on a song/musicpiece there.
I also like the VF for its in/output meters, very nice, even a crappy synth
will start another life with this little machine.
And this VF-1 group is one of the quitests groups around here, all happy
users ?
