Hi Chris.

Well, for one thing...the VF-1, imho, is not a PoS...BUT...I do agree with
the fact that there are no 1/2 decent editors for it. I just edit my patches
on the unit itself. It's a pain but it gets the job done. I'd love for
somebody who actually has time to come up with something good. For now, I'll
keep on rockin' ;)

Cheers!

Is it really my imagination or does this unit not have anything available to
externally and visually edit the patches?

I saw what was available in the files section as far as the sounddriver
adaptation goes but quite honestly, that program is a complete piece of
s#it.

Is there a driver available for Midi Quest? Or, is the VF-1 such a complete
piece of garbage that no one even wants to spend the time to come up with
anything for it?

I actually think the vf-1 is an easy SoB for editing from the front.
Good design, efficient and limited wading thru pages/levels....

I wasn't suggesting that I personally think the VF-1 is a piece of
s#it as I like it very much.

I was only wondering if the perception was that it is a POS due to
the complete lack of support in terms of editing, patches and
information available on the net... even this group, dedicated to
the VF-1, suffers from a lack of support files....

Am I missing something?

I guess the boss is a very flexible multi fx unit, not your op notch unit.
But just good ennuf and flexible, in its not so simple simplicity.

And my best guess is that vf-1 owners have tons of xtra gear.
And I use my vf-1 as an fx unit in the S/R of my mixer.
So I tweak the little red bastard while making music, so little or no need
for patches.

I think that it is one of the better-kept secrets. Most guys I know have not
heard of it and have never considered it along with all the other brands out
there.

not what I experienced.. a lot of excellent guitarists I know own one or at
least have heard of it.. my former guitar teacher (who ended up becoming a
session guitarist for some high profile band) owned 2 VF1s, and even asked
me if i was willing to sell him mine at some point.

This guy was unbelievable by the way.. he mastered Satriani (as much as this
is possible) when he was 16, just to give you an idea of his skills.. I wish
I was still getting lessons from him :)

I'm very happy with mine and will definately be buying another one
so that I have one for each side of my Stick.

I'm just dissapointed that there isn't much in the way of editors or
librarians dedicated to it.
