RE: [BossVF1] Digest Number 328
2005-08-04 by Kris Hartung
Well, I already have and play a real sitar, so I probably won't be buying the jerry jones guitar, but I did end up creating a VF-1 patch after I posted my question, which comes close to emulating the main playing string of the sitar....just not the sympathetic strings that drone and vibrate with it. This is a bit more complicated. Autowah Mode=BPF Polarity=up Sensitivity=50 Frequency=86 Peak=20 Rate=50 Depth=50 Level=100 EQ Low = -20db (all the way down) High = +4db Low-Mid Frequency=800Hz Low-Mid Q=1.0 Low-Mid level=0 High-Mid Frequency=4k Hi-Mid Q=1 Hi-Mid Level=0db Flanger Rate=3 Depth=70 Manual=50 Rsonance=60 Level=75 With some reverb and delay added to taste. I can do one better - just had a electric sitar shipped to me last week
- check out the site - it is an amazing instrument - so I will not be
looking for a sitar sound although it sounds amazing through my vf1
http://www.jerryjonesguitars.com/Master%20sitar.htm
that said I will take a look and see what could help aprox a sitar like
sound (now that I have a handy in real time sound sample)

Anyone have a patch or a set of setting on the VF-1 that emulate the
sitar?
Kris

Hi!
Sitar patch? I doubt it. The fact: The VF-1 is a multieffect processor,
but it isn't able to do the job of a real sound module.... Some days ago
my friend bought a Boss (Roland?) guitar synthesizer, it has really nice
sitar sound. As he told me, that device is one of the best toys he ever
had.
