Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Anybody know how I can use an fs-5u footswitch in conjunction with the 
expression pedal out in order to get tap tempo feature for the synchronous 
effects (especially delay) ? 

Thanks . I tried what was discribed in the manuel under using 2 footswitches 
... but had no success . Maybe I'm using the wrong type of cable ? I'm using 
just a normal guitar cable to make the connection between the fs-5u and the 
expression pedal out . Should it be a different type of cable ?

have you tried a TRS cable?
