Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

i have connected the vf1 to yhe midiox program.i have a problem with 
the command and display windows.
i can not get the vf1 to recieve data from the command window.
where as if i dump a patch to the display window(user patch) files 
are listed and i can send it back to the vf1,there a message on the 
vf1 led screen that says 'check sum error' but it still loads the 
patch.what is going on? also on my midi port activity i have 2 rows 
of indicators for both in and out 1 is green in each port the other 
is red.i have got problems,any help
