Update
2001-09-05 by Joris van den Heuvel
G'day mates,
Well, after tweeking the hell out of my new VF-1 for hours, I found out
it's really cool. But, as always, there's room for improvement. Could we draw up
a list of ideas and send them to Roland, or does everybody agree this is a bad
idea, and Roland doesn't listen to its customers anyway.
If you all think this is a good idea, we should present the ideas as a
VF-1 user group. That will put some weight on it.
Here are my suggestions, if you care to read them. I'm a bass player, and
obviously the ideas are mostly bass related.
Suggestions for Boss VF-1 upgrade, Version 1.12
assumed.
-Bass multi should include a pedal wah (pedal wahs
for bass are very common)
-Control Assign should include an envelope follower, an LFO, and preferrably a note tracker as a source (let's beat TC's G-Force!)
-Guitar synth should track low bass notes down to at least low B (if the SYB-3 can do this, the VF-1 should too)
-Guitar multi algorithms should include the bass amp models

-More bass amp models, although the AMG model does
it for me
-Typefaces (fonts) are ugly. And I mean ugly.
-Some modules could have a global switchable override preset (so you can change your settings in all patches at the same time), and/or there could be an module preset called "global" for some modules. Especially the EQ module.
-MIDI out switchable to "out, out+thru"

Later,
Joris.
